Tokyo - Studio Ghibli

One major thing on my list for Tokyo was a visit to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka.
If you don't not know Studio Ghibli by name you might recognize a few of the movies it has made: My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Arrietty (the Borrowers)... etc.

To go you need to pre-purchase your ticket (they are only available a month in advance and have set entry times). LP was kind enough to pick up a ticket for me before I arrived in Tokyo so I was set to go.

I wish I could have taken photos inside - there were a few cat busses, stop-motion animations, movies, and the most amazing stained glass windows depicting different scenes from the movies.

This little guy is the most amazing drain.. the mouth opens when water flows down the little gutter (there is a pump located nearby).
Mitaka is along the Chuo (chu-o) line a commuter rail route that probably deserves it's own post. In any case the museum was wonderful and backed out onto Inokashira Park  - which I wandered through on my way back.
