Hiroshima

Hiroshima as whole was not the city I was expecting. It was so much fun. The people are friendly and talkative and very welcoming. In the peace park I was mobbed by adorable children in the peace park and asked some pretty difficult questions on world peace (in English) by them. [side note: I am now well prepped for the Miss Universe question round.] When I went out to have Hiroshima style okonomiyaki I was chatted to (in Japanese) by two locals who bought me whiskey and laughed at my appetite (at least I think that's what they were laughing at).
I spent two day here wandering the city, getting lost and taking everything in.

This is one of the few remaining buildings that survived the atomic blast in the downtown core. It is now preseved and serves as a gateway into the peace park.

Hiroshima is a fun lively city but it holds a depressing past. The peace park and museum are beautiful and sobering reminders.

As is stated elsewhere this beautiful garden was the perfect place to decompress after visiting the atomic bomb memorials. It's directly behind the Prefectural Art Museum and I saw a few exhibits before wandeing the gardens
